Train and Recruit Qualified Deputies

Tim served as an Administrative Captain, firearms instructor, tactical medicine instructor, first aid and CPR instructor, less-lethal instructor, and sniper. He understands the importance of training our deputies to keep families safe. Tim will prioritize training which ensures our deputies have the tools and resources they need to protect and serve Seward County.

Identify Government Waste, Fraud, and Abuse

Poor fiscal management has withheld nearly $800,000 in federal forfeiture dollars for Seward County. The current administration’s failure to properly follow federal spending rules has caused taxpayers to pick up the tab. Tim will ensure the budget is balanced, funds are properly utilized, and government waste is identified and eliminated. He will work with local officials to reduce overlapping initiatives, prioritize public safety, and cut spending to lower taxes for hardworking families.

Government Transparency

The people are the Sheriff’s boss.

Tim respects the importance of government transparency, so taxpayers know how their money is being spent. He will ensure the Sheriff’s Office operates with an open-door policy and that Seward County residents have access to their Sheriff by moving the Sheriff’s Office back to the Justice Center. As Sheriff, Tim will make accountability a priority for all deputies and Sheriff’s Office employees.

Keep Resources Where They Belong

Our tax dollars should remain in Seward County. In recent years, the Sheriff’s Office has distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of vehicles, equipment, and training to agencies with no benefit to Seward County residents. As Sheriff, Tim will keep resources in the county where they belong, freeing up funds to strengthen public safety and lower taxes for hardworking families.

Community Policing

A Deputy Sheriff’s priority is serving all Seward County residents. They will patrol county roads, rural communities, and remain ready to assist local municipalities. The Sheriff’s Office will focus on protecting rural residents, not just sitting on the interstate. Tim will direct deputies to be present throughout the entire county, protecting residents and building relationships with local Nebraskans. Tim will work with Seward County school districts to establish school resource officers to serve and protect our most valuable and vulnerable residents.

Prioritize Mental Health

Supporting residents’ mental health and supporting the well-being of our deputies is essential. Tim will work with regional organizations to train deputies to recognize and respond to mental health crises. He will focus on addressing mental health challenges that impact our neighbors, friends, and families.
